Yes, take the next turn.
The one where God is leading you.

A Better Life

It is a turn to a better life…
A better life full of love, laughter and
Full of God’s glorious GRACE.

He Gives You Grace

It is time to go…
Take the road…
What are you waiting for?

Jeremiah 29:11

What are you waiting for? Has it been a long road for you? Do you wonder when things will change and get better? The wonderful thing to know, when we know God, is that he has the journey already plan. We just have to travel on the road that he directs us on. The question is, do you have faith to go on the road not knowing where it will lead you? Do you have faith, knowing that God knows what is best for you? Do you have faith to step out?

The best part of the journey…
The very best part…
Is you are never EVER on the road alone!

God will hold your hand.
God will walk in front of you.
God will carry you.
God will wrap his arms around you.

Whatever you need to help you on your journey, you can know that God is there for you!

Our wonderful, powerful, mighty God!

In God’s Grace,

Change Leads to Retreat

I was heading on a four day prayer retreat with one of my very good girlfriends.

We needed this time away from deadlines.
Away from phones and computers.
Away from reality.

We both have big change coming in our lives. Major change.

We were going on this prayer retreat to have time alone with God. We knew we needed to pray up for what would be ahead of us in our lives over the next few months.

We knew
if we deliberately took time to be with God,
if we were silent,
if we listened,
if we prayed,
if we anticipated his presence,
we knew he would show up in a mighty way.
We knew he would speak to us.
We knew he would guide us.
We knew he would love us.

We Knew We Had To Stop. God Had Something There For Us.

On the way to Pismo Beach for our retreat, we stopped at the San Miguel Mission. We needed to stop there. It has always been one of my favorite Missions. (I have been to all but one of the California Missions!) During our drive towards Pismo Beach, I kept thinking about stopping at this mission. Our timing would be close to closing time. I kept praying that the traffic wouldn’t be bad so we could make it to the mission before it closed. Prayers answered. We arrived ten minutes before the mission closed!

Listen to This!

The sweet lady in the gift shop told us to hurry to the church if we wanted to see it. My friend and I hurried to the church. We looked around and, of course, I began taking lots of pictures. I was in the back of the church when my friend said, “Listen to this.”

God Leaves Us A Message

She began to read the prayer that was written on a piece of paper on a little old wooden table by the big Mission doors.

The prayer was titled, “Let Your God Love You!”

Let your God love you!

Let your God love you!!!

The prayer said,

“Let your God love you.
Be silent.
Be still.
Alone.
Empty.
Before your God.
Say nothing.
Be silent.
Be still.
Let your God look upon you.
That is all.
He knows and understands.
He loves you with an enormous love.
Wanting only to look upon you with love.
Quiet.
Still.
Be.
Let your God love you.”

An airplane draws a heart in the sky

Wow! Wow! Wow!

Those words were the reason we needed to stop at that church

I knew that when we stopped at the church that there would be something special there for my friend and I. I had no idea what it would be. I thought maybe we would be called to pray words that God would give us. I didn’t know he would give us the words written out on a piece of paper to read.

What was totally amazing about this prayer on this paper is my friend had to move many other papers to get to it. What made her move the other papers? She just felt like she had to look at all the papers on that table.

God Is Working On Us, With Us, In Us!

When my friend read that prayer, I began to tear up. God was already working on us, with us, in us. God already had our whole retreat completely laid out for us. God was in control. We were obedient by giving of our time, our heart, our minds, our love, and our willingness to do what God wanted. We were open to listen and learn from our Lord, our Saviour, our God, our Father. We knew the only way to get through the tribulations that would be ahead of us was to pray up and have God leading our way.

God is amazing!

Unbelievable!

God is amazingly, unbelievably, incredibly glorious!

This would be the theme of our retreat. “Let your God love you.”

We knew this message was for us from our God. He would be here over the next few days with us and he would speak with us, teach us, give us redemption, show his glory, and love us every step of the way.

Our God loves us!

Our God is with us!

All he ask, is that we be silent, be still, and empty our minds so that we may be close with him.

We were obedient children. We were taking our precious time to be with the Lord and oh how the Lord rejoiced with us.

Our retreat was full of blessings and God’s presence. It was a beautiful, remarkable, memorable time with our magnificent Lord.

Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10

Do Not Waste Another Day

Do not waste another day doing something that is not working out

Look for the Blessings in everyone

Everyone is put into our path for a reason. It is up to us to look for the blessings in everyone and everything that comes in front of us.

How many times have you gone to a coffee shop, restaurant, gym, or store and stayed focus on what you were there to achieve and not connect with anyone? I think we all get on our own agenda and sometimes even may forget that the person serving us is a person too. I know I do sometimes.

I am currently at a fork in the road on this journey we call life.

A fork in the road…

Which way do I turn?

Do I stay or do I go?

Do I close doors without another door opened?

Act by faith?

Do I walk in faith? Take a chance. Live for today. Knowing that ultimately I will be OK because the wonderful thing about my life is God has the upper hand. God is looking out for me. God is holding my right hand (and sometimes carrying me) through all I do. Knowing this, is there really any chances in life or is it all predestined. All part of His plan. His almighty detailed plan.

Is it that he has every person I encounter and every situation I experience planned out right down to the words that will be exchanged?

If I really believe in a higher power that I call God, then I must look at everything that is in front of me all part of His meticulous plan.

How exciting is that!

Knowing that God wants the best for His children.

Knowing that God is in control.

Knowing that he wants us to live a life of abundance.

Knowing…

Knowing…

Yes, knowing that all I have to do is Trust. Trust and “Act on Faith.”

So, if he really puts people in front of us with the words he has planned for us, how do I interpret these words that the Barista, Maria, at the small coffee shop in Suisun City shared with me this morning.

“Do not waste another day doing something that is not working out.”

I am always venturing out when in a new city to find the local run coffee shop or eatery. That is how I stumbled upon Chocolatte Cafe this morning. I walked into this little coffee shop and was greeted with a big smile by a young twenty something lady, Maria. Not one other sole was in this coffee shop at the time.

Moms always have advice to share.

Being a mother and thinking to myself, it must be lonely in this little coffee shop with no customers, I strike up a conversation. Being the motherly type, I thought, maybe I could share a word or two of wisdom to this young lady. (I tend to do this with young ones and they are usually so polite and listen to my wisdom — not that they really listen and process my words — but they listen probably more out of respect since I am a grandma type).

So when I walked out of this coffee shop processing our little talk all I could think of was “Wow! This gal is wise for her age!” Then I thought, “hmmm What were those words she just shared with me?”

“Do not waste another day doing something that is not working out.”

Those words….

Were they her words?

Or…

Did those words come from…

Did they come from…. God?

Did God just plant those words into Maria to say to me?

Don't waste any more time

Actually, I started processing those words awhile I was still chatting with Maria. I even had grabbed a napkin and wrote down a variation of her words.

“Don’t waste any more time.”

Could this be answers to my prayers? I recently changed my prayer request from:

“God, please open the new door(s) for me. Please open it wide so I will know which one to go into.”

to the following:

“Dear God, I know I need to move forward and you obviously (because I need everything to be obvious!) have not opened a new door for me, so how about if we start shutting doors? At least, God, I will know if the door is shut that this isn’t the direction.”

So could it be that God just answered my prayers through the sweet young wise Barista, Maria?

Please share your thoughts in the comment box…
I would love to hear from you! Even a “Yep, he is talking to you!” would be great!

Thanks for reading…I love you all!

It began with a vision board.

pigeon sitting on a ledge
Yes, it began with a vision board.

With a stack of magazines, scissors, a cork board and pins, one weekend during the Spring of 2007, I set off to put together a vision board.

College boy was watching sports on television as he often did during the weekends of his high school years.

College boy asked, “Mom, WHAT are you doing?”

“I am making a vision board,” I replied.

“A vision board?”

“Yes, a vision board. You should make one, too!” I said.

“I am making a vision board with all the things I want to focus on to manifest in my life. You should make one too! You want to be a pilot? Cut out a picture of an airplane and imagine yourself flying that plane. You want to get into Embry Riddle? Cut out the school logo and put that on your board.”

College Boy made his vision board. He got into Embry Riddle and he got his Private Pilot’s license, too! The vision board worked.

My vision board included:

  • A man with a beautiful smile wearing jeans and a denim shirt sitting in a log cabin looking out a window. Looking out across a vast open landscape.
  • A diamond solitaire ring
  • Horses
  • A happy couple walking hand in hand
  • The words: love, happiness, joy, together, laughter, etc.

I was visualizing meeting a wonderful man that was happy and with whom I could sit and cuddle with. A man that would ask me to marry him and we would love each other forever. We would have a life of love, laughter and happiness forever and ever. We would proudly walk hand in hand.

Now for the horses. I am not sure why I had included the horses on my vision board. I just knew at the time that they represented calmness to me. They represented a life away from the craziness of the city. I thought maybe I would like to go visit a dude ranch in Montana.

It was only a few months after I created my vision board that I would meet Mr. Rancher.
It was only a few months after I created my vision board that I would find out that I, too, had manifested the relationship that I had so desired and deserved! Yes, I deserved to be in a relationship.

Mr. Rancher wore jeans and often wore denim shirts embroidered with his brand above the shirt pocket.
Mr. Rancher had owned a cattle ranch in the past and was looking to own another cattle ranch. He was looking for a woman that would like the life of living on a cattle ranch. He was looking for a woman who wanted to be loved and cuddled. He was looking for a woman to live the rest of his life with. I was intrigued.

It didn’t take long before I was wearing that diamond solitaire.

It didn’t take long before Mr. Rancher purchased another cattle ranch. A place where we would call home. A place where we would share our love for one another and live a loving life full of happiness and love…

So I thought…
