Reformed Mary Poppins

I Here By Relinquish the Mary Poppins Title

I was….quilty!

I was guilty of trying to be Mary Poppins!

“Practically PERFECT in everyway”

Yep, for many years I tried to live by those words. I tried to achieve that with my home, the decorating, the cooking, the budget, the kids, the volunteer work, and the entertaining. I tried to be perfect.

Being perfect is a hard title to carry on ones shoulders. It means always being ten steps ahead of everyone else. It means seeing every bit of dust, letting every pile of “stuff” bug you, and yes, it can mean a little nagging at loved ones.

I must say that I am proud to declare a few years back I went to “perfect anonymous” school and rid my addiction!

I have come to realize that it is more important to spend that quality time with my friends and family then having a kitchen floor so clean that you can eat off of it! (Yes, other Mom’s use to say “You can eat it off of the floor at PJ’s house!”)

I want to make this official.

I here by relinquish the title of “Mary Poppins, practically perfect in everyway.”

Reformed Mary Poppins

I am reformed!

Don’t get me wrong, I still like things to be nice, clean and organized. I have just learned to be “ok” with a stack sitting on the counter for a few days until I can get to it. Of course, it needs to be a neat stack and I need to know exactly what is in it. Hee Hee! Snicker Snicker! I now can allow the stack. And THAT is what makes me no longer perfect in everyway!

Signed Yours Truly,

Ms. Reformed Mary Poppins….and I must say, I am proud of it!

Here’s to a little imperfection!

A note to ponder….I know there are a lot more of you Mary Poppins look alikes! I invite you to join my club of Reformed Mary Poppins! You will be glad you did. It is invigorating!
