Let Your God Love You!

Let Your God Love you.

Change Leads to Retreat

I was heading on a four day prayer retreat with one of my very good girlfriends.

We needed this time away from deadlines.
Away from phones and computers.
Away from reality.

We both have big change coming in our lives. Major change.

We were going on this prayer retreat to have time alone with God. We knew we needed to pray up for what would be ahead of us in our lives over the next few months.

We knew
if we deliberately took time to be with God,
if we were silent,
if we listened,
if we prayed,
if we anticipated his presence,
we knew he would show up in a mighty way.
We knew he would speak to us.
We knew he would guide us.
We knew he would love us.

We Knew We Had To Stop. God Had Something There For Us.

On the way to Pismo Beach for our retreat, we stopped at the San Miguel Mission. We needed to stop there. It has always been one of my favorite Missions. (I have been to all but one of the California Missions!) During our drive towards Pismo Beach, I kept thinking about stopping at this mission. Our timing would be close to closing time. I kept praying that the traffic wouldn’t be bad so we could make it to the mission before it closed. Prayers answered. We arrived ten minutes before the mission closed!

Listen to This!

The sweet lady in the gift shop told us to hurry to the church if we wanted to see it. My friend and I hurried to the church. We looked around and, of course, I began taking lots of pictures. I was in the back of the church when my friend said, “Listen to this.”

God Leaves Us A Message

She began to read the prayer that was written on a piece of paper on a little old wooden table by the big Mission doors.

The prayer was titled, “Let Your God Love You!”

Let your God love you!

Let your God love you!!!

The prayer said,

“Let your God love you.
Be silent.
Be still.
Before your God.
Say nothing.
Be silent.
Be still.
Let your God look upon you.
That is all.
He knows and understands.
He loves you with an enormous love.
Wanting only to look upon you with love.
Let your God love you.”

Wow! Wow! Wow!

Those words were the reason we needed to stop at that church

I knew that when we stopped at the church that there would be something special there for my friend and I. I had no idea what it would be. I thought maybe we would be called to pray words that God would give us. I didn’t know he would give us the words written out on a piece of paper to read.

What was totally amazing about this prayer on this paper is my friend had to move many other papers to get to it. What made her move the other papers? She just felt like she had to look at all the papers on that table.

God Is Working On Us, With Us, In Us!

When my friend read that prayer, I began to tear up. God was already working on us, with us, in us. God already had our whole retreat completely laid out for us. God was in control. We were obedient by giving of our time, our heart, our minds, our love, and our willingness to do what God wanted. We were open to listen and learn from our Lord, our Saviour, our God, our Father. We knew the only way to get through the tribulations that would be ahead of us was to pray up and have God leading our way.

God is amazing!

God is amazingly, unbelievably, incredibly glorious!

This would be the theme of our retreat. “Let your God love you.”

We knew this message was for us from our God. He would be here over the next few days with us and he would speak with us, teach us, give us redemption, show his glory, and love us every step of the way.

Our God loves us!

Our God is with us!

All he ask, is that we be silent, be still, and empty our minds so that we may be close with him.

We were obedient children. We were taking our precious time to be with the Lord and oh how the Lord rejoiced with us.

Our retreat was full of blessings and God’s presence. It was a beautiful, remarkable, memorable time with our magnificent Lord.

Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10

She is on her way!

Baby stuffed animals
She is on her way.

Yep! She is on her way and I am going to be a Grandma.

A Grandma!

Imagine that!

I am going to be a Grandma!

Oh, my! It has been 39 weeks since my little girl conceived.

My little girl that has grown up to be a beautiful lady both inside and out.

My sweet little girl is going to have a baby! ANY DAY!

I have not allowed myself to think about it much over the last 39 weeks.

Not that I wasn’t excited but more to give The Kids (Sissy and New Husband) their space and privacy. I knew if I thought about it too much I would be writing post here and talking about it on Facebook. Maybe The Kids didn’t want the world to know what was going on in their life. Maybe they wanted their peace.

So here…

As we get closer to the due date, I write this post.

Sweet Little Mac (that is what we call the baby, Little Mac) will be here any time.

And what does this Grandma (Grandma Jammer as The Kids call me) have to say about the soon to arrive baby?

What does this Granma Jammer have to say about being a Grandma?

God is such an awesome God!

He planned this all perfectly!

God always knows what he is doing. We just need to kick back and let him have the rein. I have learned (well I still need reminders quite often) that you might as well let God have the reins because if you don’t…the ride is going to be mighty bumpy.

I have been praying every morning to God. I pray for lots of things along with being grateful but one of the things that I pray for everyday is for God to guide his loving hand in the birth of Little Mac. To allow Sissy to have a fairly easy birth with no complications. For Little Mac to come out healthy, happy and full of God’s love. (Oh, there are some other specific things I prayed for, too, with God but I plan to keep those between God and me.)

Little Mac, I am waiting for your arrival with open arms and an open heart.

Dad, Your Boys are Watching

old door with glass windows

Dads your boys are watching you!
They see how you are treating the ladies around you.
They see that you opened the door for your family members and then stayed behind to keep the door open for that single lady walking in or that old person struggling to walk.
Your boys see that!
Thank you for letting them see your kindness.
Thank you for opening the door.

Love and hugs,

I am back..NOT that anyone missed me

Pam McCoy
I am back to Random Pocket Notes.

Not that you care.

Not that you missed me.

This is about me.

About having a place to escape.

Escape with my thoughts.

Exposing a little..yes, a little, creative writing.

Is it creative?

Who is judging?

Mr. Herbold, my 10th grade English teacher?

My Mom or Dad?

My kids?

My friends?

My future employers?

My future husband?

Does it matter?

God is the only one that ultimately matters.

He is first.

He is my leader.

And, you know, even HE won’t judge me.

He will accept me for who I am.

He will accept me for what I say and what I think.

He will always be here…caring.

So I am back to Random Pocket Notes.

Opening up…

Will I share more then I should?

The thing is, I need to share…for me!

I need to share for you.

I need to share for you whom may be experiencing some of the same joys and sorrow that I am experiencing.

I need to share for you whom may be scared to take action but from my experience and words it will help give you the power and courage to leave, to move on, to love, to laugh, to cry…to share.

Let’s have a relationship here…

Yes, here on Random Pocket Notes.

Comment here.

Share here.

Or if it is all you can do is listen, then by all means LISTEN!

Love and hugs.

On a Journey

Your future is in front of you.

Don’t Know Where I am Heading

I am on a journey.

With me, I have packed…

I hope to find on the way…

A new purpose

And when I find my new home to unpack my bags…

I will know that where I am, who I am with, and what I am doing…

Is totally because God led me there.

Join me on my journey….
