God is Faithful – Deuteronomy 32:4

by PJ on April 14, 2014

God is faithful. His work is perfect. Praise the Lord.
God is Faithful - "He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just."

“I will proclaim the name of the Lord, Oh, praise the greatness of our God!
He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just.
A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.”
–Deuteronomy 32:4

He is our Rock through hard times…
He is our Rock when we don’t know what to do…
He is our Rock when we feel like we are ready to give up…
He is our Rock!

He is strong when we feel weak.
He is solid when we feel our feet are not steady.
He is a resting place.
He is a stepping stone.

He will never leave us.

Nothing can crush our Rock!

Rest in the peace knowing that He stands firm and steady next to you.

Set Back Isn’t Set Back

by PJ on April 3, 2014

Quote - When you have a set back, it isn't a step back. God is working.

“When you have a set back, it isn’t a step back
because God is already on the
NEXT STEP!

Do you ever feel like you just can’t seem to move forward? You have one set back after another. You feel like giving up. This is when we need to remember more then ever that God is at work! He has it all planned out and is working on the next step.

HOPE - I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you, plans for your future. Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope to a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Knowing; this verse, what are you worrying about?! Praise God he has an amazing beautiful wonderful plan for your future! Hold on to this Hope on the days when you can’t see beyond the struggles blurring your vision of today.

God is an amazing God! HOPE is in the future that God has already planned for us.

Please share your story in the comments below. I love to hear from you!

Do Not Worry About Tomorrow!

by PJ on May 9, 2013

Do not worry about tomorrow. Focus on Today

Do not worry about tomorrow. Focus on today!

34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Matthew 6:34
NIV translation

I like the way the Message Bible interprets this verse…

34″Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.”
Matthew 6:34
Message Bible translation

In other words…
Be still and know that He is God.
Be still and know that He will be beside you in whatever the future brings.
Be still and know that He will provide.
Be still and know that He will provide you with all tools you will need for any situation you will face.
Be still and know that He is God.
Be still and know that He has a plan.
Be still and know…
Be still and know…
Be still and know.

What a wonderful feeling to know that we get to wear the shield of God and that he will hold your right hand and lead the way.

Do Not Waste Another Day

by PJ on April 13, 2013

Do not waste another day doing something that is not working out

Look for the Blessings in everyone

Everyone is put into our path for a reason. It is up to us to look for the blessings in everyone and everything that comes in front of us.

How many times have you gone to a coffee shop, restaurant, gym, or store and stayed focus on what you were there to achieve and not connect with anyone? I think we all get on our own agenda and sometimes even may forget that the person serving us is a person too. I know I do sometimes.

I am currently at a fork in the road on this journey we call life.

A fork in the road…

Which way do I turn?

Do I stay or do I go?

Do I close doors without another door opened?

Act by faith?

Do I walk in faith? Take a chance. Live for today. Knowing that ultimately I will be OK because the wonderful thing about my life is God has the upper hand. God is looking out for me. God is holding my right hand (and sometimes carrying me) through all I do. Knowing this, is there really any chances in life or is it all predestined. All part of His plan. His almighty detailed plan.

Is it that he has every person I encounter and every situation I experience planned out right down to the words that will be exchanged?

If I really believe in a higher power that I call God, then I must look at everything that is in front of me all part of His meticulous plan.

How exciting is that!

Knowing that God wants the best for His children.

Knowing that God is in control.

Knowing that he wants us to live a life of abundance.

Knowing…

Knowing…

Yes, knowing that all I have to do is Trust. Trust and “Act on Faith.”

So, if he really puts people in front of us with the words he has planned for us, how do I interpret these words that the Barista, Maria, at the small coffee shop in Suisun City shared with me this morning.

“Do not waste another day doing something that is not working out.”

I am always venturing out when in a new city to find the local run coffee shop or eatery. That is how I stumbled upon Chocolatte Cafe this morning. I walked into this little coffee shop and was greeted with a big smile by a young twenty something lady, Maria. Not one other sole was in this coffee shop at the time.

Moms always have advice to share.

Being a mother and thinking to myself, it must be lonely in this little coffee shop with no customers, I strike up a conversation. Being the motherly type, I thought, maybe I could share a word or two of wisdom to this young lady. (I tend to do this with young ones and they are usually so polite and listen to my wisdom — not that they really listen and process my words — but they listen probably more out of respect since I am a grandma type).

So when I walked out of this coffee shop processing our little talk all I could think of was “Wow! This gal is wise for her age!” Then I thought, “hmmm What were those words she just shared with me?”

“Do not waste another day doing something that is not working out.”

Those words….

Were they her words?

Or…

Did those words come from…

Did they come from…. God?

Did God just plant those words into Maria to say to me?

Don't waste any more time

Actually, I started processing those words awhile I was still chatting with Maria. I even had grabbed a napkin and wrote down a variation of her words.

“Don’t waste any more time.”

Could this be answers to my prayers? I recently changed my prayer request from:

“God, please open the new door(s) for me. Please open it wide so I will know which one to go into.”

to the following:

“Dear God, I know I need to move forward and you obviously (because I need everything to be obvious!) have not opened a new door for me, so how about if we start shutting doors? At least, God, I will know if the door is shut that this isn’t the direction.”

So could it be that God just answered my prayers through the sweet young wise Barista, Maria?

Please share your thoughts in the comment box…
I would love to hear from you! Even a “Yep, he is talking to you!” would be great!

Thanks for reading…I love you all!

Waiting Grows Your Faith

by PJ on April 4, 2013

"He wants us to wait to build our faith."

“Sometimes…
He wants us to wait!
This builds our faith.
Waiting keeps us dependent on him.
Waiting helps us grow in faith.

God,
I have waited so patiently for your direction in my life. I know it is your timing and you know what is best for me. I do see the waiting has helped to strengthen my faith and relationship with you. I am grateful for the growth you have given to me through the waiting process. Please open the next doors in my journey, Dear Lord.
In Faith,
Your Child

Be Still and Listen

by PJ on March 10, 2013

birds chirping - listen - quote

Peaceful morning….
Do you stop and listen…
I mean really listen….
Be still….

You don’t hear?

Be still….

I mean really still.

Don’t think about that computer.

Forget about what is going on with Facebook and Twitter.

Forget about the problems.

Forget about what you will do tomorrow.

Forget about all worries.

Be still….

You aren’t still enough…

You have to sit really still.

Do you need a q-tip to clean out your ears?

Stay in total silence…

The birds are chirping….

Feel the light breeze coming through the window?

He is waiting for you….

He is waiting for you to get everything out of your mind…

He is waiting for you to be totally present for him.

It may only be a whisper…

Stay in silence….

Be at peace…

Trust…

He is here…

Listen…

Silence…

Are your ears ringing?

Be still…

“Be still, my dear child, be still. I am here with you. I am here for you. I have you in my arms. I want the best for you. I love you dear child. Trust in me. It will all be ok. It will ALL be ok. It WILL be ok. Trust. Have faith. Be still, and let me lead the way. Be still my dear child. I have tomorrow planned. Tomorrow is all taken care of. Trust. Be at peace. Trust. Feel my love for you, my dear child. Feel my love. I have got it figured out. I am King. I am your Father. Be still.”

He will talk to you. You have to listen…

Do you trust?

Let go…

And listen.

It Has Been a Year Since I Left

by PJ on March 7, 2013

god answer prayers his way

It has been a year since I left

A year since I left the relationship.

What did I accomplish this year?
Did I do God’s will?
Was this just all part of his plan?

His beautiful awesome plan!

When I said I was leaving the relationship, I was overwhelmed with love and gratitude to the people that reached out to me and opened their homes to me. People that I have known for years and others that I didn’t even know but had heard about me through mutual friends.

These people all believed in me. They were excited for me and the new life I was about to embark on. They were excited to see God’s hand in my life and the words that seemed to ring from everyone were:

PJ you are a good person. You know God and He will lead the way. You are strong. There are big things in store for you. You will find your way. You made the right decision. We love you. We want the best for you. We are here for you. Let people help you.

Let people help me? NO!! I am the one that always helps others! I am the one to bring the meals, to annoymously help others, to tithe, to share my gift of hospitality. To treat others to lunch or buy their coffee. I am the giver and I like that role! I like giving!

I am a giver! A giver!

Receive? Take? I don’t like this role at all! BUT….is this part of the lesson that God has taught me this year? The gift of receiving. The gift of being humble.

Is this just all part of God’s plan?

Is this all part of God’s plan. God’s beautiful wonderful plan?

He also gave me many more gifts this year. The gift of trust and faith. It is only with my trust and faith that I knew I could make it through the transitional year. Lots of trust and faith. Some days I would wake up and just pray, “God, help me just focus on the joy you have planned for me today knowing that I don’t know what tomorrow will bring. Knowing that I am a complete Mary Poppins perfectionist control freak! Knowing I am not in control but you, my Dear Lord, hold my life in your hands.

It was with those words and a few tears that got me through many days.

It was always amazing how God would work in my life those days. Those days when I woke up completely in despair turning to God for His love and with my trust and faith that God has a beautiful wonderful plan for me. For ME His child.

God has a plan!

When the sun went down on those days, I would realize that God held me tight all day. He stayed close to me and those days always were glorious.

I learned to turn more to God. That is a gift from Jesus! One of the many gifts I received this past year.

God has blessed me with the greatest joys

So as I reflect back over the last year, I realize that I may still not have the answers to some of the important questions I have about my life journey today. I still don’t know what I will really do to fill my savings account. I still don’t know where I am going to be living. I still haven’t meant my new husband. What I do know, God has truly blessed me with one of the greatest joys a woman could ever want…

And that joy is being closer to God. Closer to my Father. Closer to living the life that he has chosen for me to live. Oh, my God has blessed me.

It is exciting times! God is in total control of my life. He wants wonderful things for his children and how lucky I am to be one of His cherished children. The blessings are just beginning… God is remarkable! I can’t wait to share with you all the things that God has and is blessing me with.

With Faith…
With Trust…
With Hope…
With Belief…
With….
Just knowing….

With just knowing that God is my God…Our God…Yours and my God…

Just knowing this….

I know in my heart…

I know that my life is about to unfold beautiful wonderul blessings…

All you have to do is have trust, faith and believe in God. I want to say that it is easy. But we all know that it isn’t easy. It isn’t easy to turn your life over. It isn’t easy to trust. It is sometimes hard to have faith through the trials and tribulations of life. It isn’t easy to pray, “God, today I give you control to show me your joy in today. Today I trust you that you know the best way for me. I know that you have a wonderful glorious plan for me. I know that through my trials and tribulations that you teach lessons. Dear Lord, today, I will walk where you lead me.”

That is not an easy prayer to say. It is hard to really believe. It is hard to not just take control and make decisions that may not be His will for us. But I know that this year has been my test to myself on how much faith I have in my Lord.

I am proud to say I made it through this year a much stronger woman. I made it through this year because I did have faith and I turned to God (almost) every day.

Let us see what tomorrow will bring…

Question to you…
If you have something that you are struggling with right now, do you have enough faith and trust to turn it over to God. Can you just say a prayer then take a deep breath and release the problem to God to handle? I encourage you to start small… Start with one problem…then eventually as you grow in your faith … you will be able to turn your life over to God and watch the blessings unfold.

As James Stewart would say, “It is a Wonderful Life!”

Today I choose…JOY

by PJ on January 14, 2013

Today…
For today…
I choose…
JOY!
today i choose joy

Although sometimes it can be hard to be joyful…

We don’t quite have it “all together”.

We don’t know what direction we are going in life.

We are living by faith and waiting for God to lead us.

Living in faith.

Living in faith.

Knowing that everything will be ok.

It will be ok.

So…

for today…

Why not live in JOY!

I choose JOY…

for today!

Why not choose Joy with me….

What are you joyful for?

Middle Age Is the Happiest Time

Probably the happiest period in life most frequently is in middle age, when the eager passions of youth are cooled, and the infirmities of age not yet begun; as we see that the shadows, which are at morning and evening so large, almost entirely disappear at midday. – Eleanor Roosevelt When has it been the […]
