Faith Hope Love
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love; but the greatest of these is LOVE.
1 Corinthians 13:13
I love this verse. Makes life seem so easy.
All we need is love
All we need to give is love.
I noticed him as I walked into the Starbucks. He had just parked his bike. He had earplugs in his ears and was singing away.
I walked up to the counter to purchase my coffee and he was in line behind me…singing away.
He was singing with joy in his voice.
It made me smile.
I had noticed that he was an older man dressed in sweats. It had appeared that he had no worries. It had appeared that life was good for him. It APPEARED!
After I purchased my coffee, he proceeded to order his coffee. That is when I got the nudge. You know the nudge? The nudge told me to purchase his coffee. He was still singing away. I reached over him to give my Starbucks card to the barista to pay for his coffee. He was so busy singing that he didn’t realize that I had paid for his coffee. The barista was trying to tell him that his coffee had already been paid for but he still was listening to his music and could not hear. He finally took out his ear plugs to hear that I had paid for his coffee. When he turned around to see who had paid for his coffee, I patted him on the back and I said, “Thank you for making me smile and making me feel joyful with your singing.” I said, “Thank you for having such a great spirit.”
Now in the background there was another man and two women watching the whole transaction. The man that was watching said to me, “That was really great how you did that for him. Now I am going to go and do something special for someone.”
The man that I purchased the coffee for proceeded to tell me thank you and blessed me. He then said, “I know this is going to be a good day now. Thank you! I had a hard day yesterday. I was battling evil all day. I am grateful though. I am grateful that I am healthy and that I am not back in prison. God has a plan for all of us. I know he takes care of us.”
One of the ladies listened with me as he told his story and confirmed with him how great our God is.
I listened to their conversation. I listened and silently prayed, “Thank you, God! Thank you for the nudge. Thank you for the blessing. Thank you for the words that you had this man share with me! God, you always amaze me! I think I am blessing someone but in turn they bless me two-fold! Thank you for taking care of us all! Thank you for your plan!”
A nudge. A $2.45 cup of coffee. God’s beautiful plan.
Think of how many lives were impacted by God’s child (me) recognizing the nudge and then acting upon it! The barista, the two ladies and the man who was watching, the man that received the coffee, myself and maybe you who read this blog.
Yes, we do have an amazing wonderful God that is leading us every step on our journey!
May God bless you today!

It is time to go…
Take the road…
What are you waiting for?
What are you waiting for? Has it been a long road for you? Do you wonder when things will change and get better? The wonderful thing to know, when we know God, is that he has the journey already plan. We just have to travel on the road that he directs us on. The question is, do you have faith to go on the road not knowing where it will lead you? Do you have faith, knowing that God knows what is best for you? Do you have faith to step out?
The best part of the journey…
The very best part…
Is you are never EVER on the road alone!
God will hold your hand.
God will walk in front of you.
God will carry you.
God will wrap his arms around you.
Whatever you need to help you on your journey, you can know that God is there for you!
Our wonderful, powerful, mighty God!
In God’s Grace,
I was heading on a four day prayer retreat with one of my very good girlfriends.
We needed this time away from deadlines.
Away from phones and computers.
Away from reality.
We both have big change coming in our lives. Major change.
We were going on this prayer retreat to have time alone with God. We knew we needed to pray up for what would be ahead of us in our lives over the next few months.
if we deliberately took time to be with God,
if we were silent,
if we listened,
if we prayed,
if we anticipated his presence,
we knew he would show up in a mighty way.
We knew he would speak to us.
We knew he would guide us.
We knew he would love us.
On the way to Pismo Beach for our retreat, we stopped at the San Miguel Mission. We needed to stop there. It has always been one of my favorite Missions. (I have been to all but one of the California Missions!) During our drive towards Pismo Beach, I kept thinking about stopping at this mission. Our timing would be close to closing time. I kept praying that the traffic wouldn’t be bad so we could make it to the mission before it closed. Prayers answered. We arrived ten minutes before the mission closed!
The sweet lady in the gift shop told us to hurry to the church if we wanted to see it. My friend and I hurried to the church. We looked around and, of course, I began taking lots of pictures. I was in the back of the church when my friend said, “Listen to this.”
She began to read the prayer that was written on a piece of paper on a little old wooden table by the big Mission doors.
The prayer was titled, “Let Your God Love You!”
The prayer said,
“Let your God love you.
Before your God.
Let your God look upon you.
That is all.
He knows and understands.
He loves you with an enormous love.
Wanting only to look upon you with love.
Let your God love you.”
Wow! Wow! Wow!
I knew that when we stopped at the church that there would be something special there for my friend and I. I had no idea what it would be. I thought maybe we would be called to pray words that God would give us. I didn’t know he would give us the words written out on a piece of paper to read.
What was totally amazing about this prayer on this paper is my friend had to move many other papers to get to it. What made her move the other papers? She just felt like she had to look at all the papers on that table.
When my friend read that prayer, I began to tear up. God was already working on us, with us, in us. God already had our whole retreat completely laid out for us. God was in control. We were obedient by giving of our time, our heart, our minds, our love, and our willingness to do what God wanted. We were open to listen and learn from our Lord, our Saviour, our God, our Father. We knew the only way to get through the tribulations that would be ahead of us was to pray up and have God leading our way.
God is amazing!
God is amazingly, unbelievably, incredibly glorious!
This would be the theme of our retreat. “Let your God love you.”
We knew this message was for us from our God. He would be here over the next few days with us and he would speak with us, teach us, give us redemption, show his glory, and love us every step of the way.
Our God loves us!
Our God is with us!
All he ask, is that we be silent, be still, and empty our minds so that we may be close with him.
We were obedient children. We were taking our precious time to be with the Lord and oh how the Lord rejoiced with us.
Our retreat was full of blessings and God’s presence. It was a beautiful, remarkable, memorable time with our magnificent Lord.
